St. Kizito Church in Lolupe, Kenya, is one of the five outstation churches without a permanent church structure in our parish. Presently, through the support and generosity of donors and the little contributions of our poor congregation, we have been able to put up a permanent church building structure.
The church project started in June 2017. It became an urgent and necessary project to embark on because the capacity of the primary school hall, which we have been using for Masses, could no longer accommodate the growing number of worshipers at the station. In fact, at our Sunday Masses, the number of people outside are usually more than those inside!
With about $27,000 spent already to complete the 500-people capacity church project, we are yet to move into it. This is because we are still in need of several items, including pews, a mini solar-power system, tables, a cupboard, and the final painting of the church.
