It was a very sad day for the Missionaries of St Paul as the painful news of the death of one of our beloved brother and great missionary, Fr. Francis Ighorurhie, MSP was broken early morning of October 16, 2020. It was gathered that Fr Francis slipped from the wooden bridge walk to his Rectory, fell into the water and drowned, Thursday night, October 15.
It was another moment of great joy for families, friends, benefactors MSPs and AMPs as we witnessed the priestly ordination of seven of our members. The 36th priestly ordination of the Missionary Society of St. Paul took place on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the MSP seminary in Nigeria.
Some of the highlights of the lecture include a reminder by the keynote speaker Fr Onwukeme that the idea of Consecrated Life goes back to the Old Testament experience of the Israelites in their relationship with God in which God declares them a chosen race, a holy nation, a people set apart.
The Missionary Society of St. Paul held her 4th General Chapter from September 2nd to 14th. On September 12, 2013, the Chapter Fathers in the presence of the Ordinary of the Missionary Society of St Paul, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan elected five MSP Priests as members of the General Council for the next six years.
The MSP family was blessed with thirteen (13) new priests on June 22, 2013. The ordination took place at soccer field of the National Missionary Seminary of St. Paul, Gwgwalada. The ordaining prelate was the bishop of Kafanchan diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph D. Bagobiri.
This annual event had in attendance over 250 friends and Associates of the Missionary Society of St. Paul. Bishop Curtis Guillory of Beamont Diocese presided over the Mass during which 15 new Associate Missionaries of St. Paul took their Solemn Admissions.
The 2012 priestly ordination of five of our brothers took place at the National Missionary Seminary of St. Paul, Gwgwalada, on Saturday, June 23, 2012.
It was a blessing to be part of this celebration. I enjoyed every moment of the Mass and the reception that followed. What a great joy to see all the priests of the Missionary Society of St. Paul full of life and joy at their ministry in the United States.”
The 27th Priestly Ordinations of Missionary Society of St Paul took place on the 25th of June 2011. In that Ceremony, the Ordinary of the society, Archbishop John Onaiyekan Ordained 11 new missionaries for the missions.
